Our Story
Hello, and welcome to Black Dog Travels! After a couple of years of traveling with our black lab, Zoey, I have decided to start a travel blog to highlight what we do to make the trip enjoyable for all. Traveling with your fur baby is rewarding but presents unique obstacles.
As I am sure you are aware, National Parks are not the most pet friendly places to visit, so we take shorter, 30-minute or less, hikes in the parks, depending on the weather. National Park pages will generally be shorter, but I will hit our pet friendly highlights. In our part of the country, the national parks are surrounded by pet friendly National Forests and BLM land, so I will share more info on those locations! Also, I will share some of our favorite hikes closer to home. My first post on here will be a brief overview of what gear Zoey uses hiking, which ones are her favorites, and which ones are ours.
Most of the places will center around our home in Southwest Montana. Which is perfect because a lot of people travel through here when driving between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. We will have a few recommendations for areas around those National Parks, as well as a few out-of-state adventures we have been able to go on.
